Well if I were Matt Millen I would take Dwayne Jarrett...but I'm not Millen so I would take Calvin Johnson.

I know Calvin Johnson will probably be there unless Al Davis pulls a surprise move on draft day. If I was Matt Millen I would really make sure that this WR will work out in the plan. Personally I believe if Kitna or whoever will quarterback in Detroit is to survive I would pick Joe Thomas, an OL because the quarterback in this case needs to be upright so somebody gets the ball. Detroit needs help om the offensive line big time.

The best thing for Matt Millen to do is trade down with Arizona pick up another 2nd or 3rd round pick then take Gaines Adams DE out of Clemson. The Lions lost both starting DE's this off season they filled one side with White but they need another guy with Cory Redding moving inside.

They do not need a WR Roy Williams is already great and Mike Furry had a career year. Plus they signed McDonald who knows Martz's system well. They don't need Joe Thomas the OT because the weakness is easily the interior linemen Scott held his own very well and Backus is also good they also acquired an OT in George Foster in the Dre Bly trade.

Don't get me started on Brady Quinn. Martz doesn't want him he's stated so publicly and he's never had a day 1 QB before (Warner UDFA, Bulger 6th round, and John Kitna UDFA) and I doubt he is going to start now.

the best thing for matt millen to do is trade down, somone is going to want Calvin Johnson and will give up alot for it.

if i were Matt Millen and i HAD to pick 2nd, then i'd get either a QB or a Lineman (probably Joe Thomas). Millen would get so much heat for drafting ANOTHER wide reciver, even if it is Calvin Johnson. think about all the WRs they drafted with Millen as GM, and think of how much of them are still on the team and produce.

If Matt Millen drafted Calvin Johnson he has to be fired for sure. The smart pick is Brady Quinn.

If I was GM, I would realize I have 3 options.

I can either draft a QB, continue to improve the O-line, or trade the pick down. If its a QB, I would draft Brady Quinn, tho that is a bit high for him in my opinion. I can trade down and still get Quinn. Not many teams need QBs this year so it would work in the Lions favor. The other option is to draft Joe Thomas out of Wisconsin. With Thomas and off season acquisition George Foster, the Lions will suddenly have a pretty good line to work with. The options are there. Now we have to see what the real management team will do with the choices.

Seriously I think the Raiders pick Calvin Johnson... but if they dont grab him. Calvin John, Roy Williams, and Mike Furrey would be a great starting lineup. Yes, even with Kitna. If hes already taken I trade down a few picks and get Joe Thomas 6'6 311 runs a 4.8. This will be their cornerstone for their OL for years to come. And use the other draft picks from the trade down on later round offensive linemen.

Brady Quinn. Taking Joe Thomas is very tempting, but I don't think even Matt Millen [the worst GM in sports] could pass up on Jay Cutler, Matt Leinart, and Brady Quinn in successive years. The offensive line is still a major liability, but Tony Ugoh [Arkansas], Joe Staley [Central Michigan], and Marshal Yanda [Iowa] should all be there in the 2nd round.

Getting another WR would not immediately help the team. Getting a Solid Defense Pass Rusher would indeed help him. But Matt Millen has done some Al Davis moves in the past...so I see him getting Calvin Johnson.

That depends on one thing. What is their long term level of confidence in Jon Kitna. Only those within the organization know that. If they feel comfortable enough with Kitna they should trade w/ Tampa Bay and then draft Joe Thomas. This would be an excellent oppurtunity to pick up a middle round pick. If they feel they need a QB they should take Quinn, assuming Russell is gone.
