They do it all the time. One time he brought a bird in and was planning on plopping it up on my pillow. Thankfully my husband caught him before that happened.
And I once had a cat that would line the field mice all up neatly in a row at the back door like a special gift for me. He would be so proud.
Oh... I have bells on my cats to help protect the birds, but that just doesn't always work. It really saddens me when they catch a bird.

yeah one of my cats is always bringing mice birds even a mole one time. People say that when a cat brings a dead animal that they caught to your door step, that means that they are thanking you for being a great owner. We rescued this cat from the side of the road..she had a broken leg and head trauma...a whole lotta other stuff. She thanks us by bringing dead animals to our door all the time. If the cat eats the mouse of bird then that means they are starving cuz cats are not carnivores!

My old cat brought me home a bird. And 2 days in a row I cam home to find a dead field mouse in the middle of my living room. I hear it's a privelege and honor though when your cat brings you something like that - it's like a gift.

Yes both and the bird was alive and flying around the kitchen!! You should have seen us trying to get this bird outside with a dust pan. It was a site!
She has also left alot of dead mice and rats in the hallway. My daughter picks those up.

Oh yes! She brings me mice sometimes, but usually they aren't dead, most often they aren't even injured. Then she releases them inside and watches me as I catch it. Indoors she doesn't even join the chase if the mouse runs right in front of her; she hunts only outdoors. I think she wants to teach me to catch mice better.

Yep. I'd be glad if she brings me a mouse, but i'll scold her if she brings a bird.
