My idea of overall political reform is forcing our politicians - from the school board president to the President of the United States - to be accountable to the American people for every decision they make. Lower salaries, higher accountability. ALL parties, ALL levels of government.
Yes or no?

Shrink: Really? Can you prove specific provisions, or are you just showing off your education and intelligence by making baseless blanket claims? You probably are one of those people who think the purpose of the Constitution is to grant rights to Americans, right? LOL

Okay, while I might agree with this thought. How can you be absolutely certain the people representing you have your best interest at heart? There will always be political bribing that may or may not be in your best interest. I think making the president accountable to the people would not work, because "the people" are too large of a body to represent efficiently.

Great idea but it won't happen until more and more people demand their representatives represent us.
So many people are"too busy" to take part in democracy. They pay attention to politicians about a week before elections and then forget it afterward. Democracy takes work and constant diligence to keep the will of the majority as what happens. Too many lobbyists have power they should not because that is all the politicians hear from. We have to remind our reps. that lobbyists may have money but we have the votes. Votes keep them in office.
It is like the story of Caesar as he rode in his chariot. There was a slave standing behind him whispering in his ear that he is mortal and that if the people wish him dead he will die.
People can only have power as our numbers increase. So get out there and convince others to participate in our democracy if we don't we'll get stuck with another do nothing Congress and another lousey President.

No. heritage shows that the voters in the U. S. bounces decrease from side to side between both activities like it really is a recreation of ping pong. Republicans will regain capacity, piss all and sundry off, then the Democrats could have their risk to piss all and sundry off back. it extremely is, obviously, until eventually adequate human beings initiate to comprehend that it is occurring and that neither celebration is reaping benefits the country as an complete. I proceed to be skeptical, because it really is been occurring for generations.

I think we oughta outsource their jobs to the Chinese just like the gov't did to the American working families nationwide. That will guarantee lower wages. If they're all for free trade and importing Chinese goods by the billions, I don't have a problem with outsourcing Gov't jobs. That's what I call a reform.

Please just read the Constitution. Because what you are suggesting SOUNDS SO GOOD (other than the fact it is totally in opposition to the US Constitution).
And since what you are suggesting requires a complete overhaul of the US Constitution, I vote a resounding NO.
There isn't anyone living today wise enough to revise our Constitution, so it needs to be left alone, and just followed.
EDIT: Not a big mystery, here. Doesn't every 7th grader learn about Separation of Powers?

Yes, the reason being politicians make decisions which affect others not themselves and sometimes they gain from their decisions.

i think all salaries of congress should not be voted on by the people who will receive the salary...i think all politicians should have term limits...and all judges except the supreme court be accountable to their districts...meaning activist judges can be forced of the bench by the people...
