when the weather temperature drops the engine would crank but the van woud not start up.
my mechinic suspected and changed the fuel pump.The problem persisted. we did complete tune up, the problem would not go away even when we jump started
I even used starter fluid, it still would not start. My bartery is relatively new. What could the problem be?

i own a repair shop and this one needs is a new temperature sensor on it this is what tells the computer the engine is cold and needs enough gas to get it started,what yours is doing is not sending any signal or a bad signal and it is shutting the fuel supply off to the engine,your mechanic should have known this,but that's whats causing this to happen i don't remember the exact location of the sensor but i think its the closest one to the thermostat housing,but that's all that is wrong with it ,you,ll have to have the computer cleared after you replace the sensor ,but your mechanic can do this also,good luck with it i hope this helps.
