While typing weird things happen like the cursor jumps forwards or backwards and text highlights and the mouse right (options)click function happens and some windows function that displays a bubble with verticle arrows, I guess for verticle scrolling appears, and also the mouse scroll wheel will stop working and also I wont be able to grab anything with the mouse until after I open and close the task manager.

Intially it looks to be a input device problem since it looks to be effecting the mouse and keyboard only so far. Does anyone know what is going on and what I can do about it? Thanks.

On my IBM Thinkpad, IBM helpfile said the cursor would jump occasionally "by nature..." of the pointing mechanism (?) until the device "adjusted to room temperature" but I've seen it happen beyond what I've thought would be a reasonable amount of time...

On my HP I've never been able to get the touchpad adjusted to what they call the proper "palm sensitivity" so that an occasional brush-by by the pad of my thumb (like, when I'm hitting the spacebar with my right thumb while typing at high speed) doesn't make the cursor jump across the screen!

When I get frustrated with either the IBM thingie or the HP touchpad, I occasionally turn to a Logitech wireless mouse, and when it runs even 3/4 near run-out of battery (just 3/4, not 7/8!) it will occasionally cut out, like yours, and I have to reset i by turning the danged thing off, or unplugging it from the USB, and turning it back on.

And, yes, the occasional weird seemingly unsolicited highlighting.
