People like RLP ask one sided questions, and continually get responses from both libs and cons that politics is pretty even when it comes to corruption...yet she keeps asking the same questions. Is there any point to answering 'questions' from people who just want agreement and can never learn or open their minds? And do they really believe that their party is exempt from bad behavior? is this the quality of voter out there...uninformed and obstinate?

As far as the "political corruption" argument, as opposed to policy arguments, I agree, it is essentially a dead end.
The whole thing can be reduced to:
Con: Bill Jefferson
Lib: Tom DeLay
Con: Jim Wright
Lib: Duke Cunningham
Con: Red
Lib: Blue
Ad infinitum.
Of course the whole thing is cyclical, and given the avalanche of Repub corruption recently, the cons have to overreach a bit and bring up hoary figures of the past like Web Hubbell, rehash "Travelgate" etc. to try and retaliate.
One thing I would say is that some revelations of current corruption are genuinely news, e.g. recently when there were revelations about Foley, arguing that we shoudl ignore it because of some 1986 Democratic scandal doesn't really cut it.

None of the parties are exempt from corruption and we are all human - make mistakes.
I do disagree that "politics is pretty even when it comes to corruption" . Republicans are way ahead of Democrats in this fields!
Do not make me laugh if you are trying to compare lying about a ******** to lying about a war, outing a CIA operative, flat out lying about required number of troops and their support etc.
I "love" when Republicans labeled Democrats as big spenders , while 75% of US national debt is because of the Republican presidents. Would not you call it evil? Bush screams about small government and blames Democrats while he is responsible for 3 trillion $ added to the national debt!
Oh, yea and this is more of a discussion forum then a place to find an answer! I am pretty cynical about it and I have low regards to people who still support this war/policies while the main reason was either a big lie or complete incompetence!
I see that Celtic is a well trained FOX operative trying to negate Republican corruption. It is quite amusing to see TomDelay and Cunningham as "LIBs" , oh and are not you yourself stating that cons bring old cases to offset the avalanche of the new ones? So why do you list Jim Wright , whose ethics conducts happened 18 years ago?

Judging by your statement, it is for RLP - whoever that is. The right to vote is not based on whether or not you have obsessive compulsive disorder, or an IQ higher than 70, or whether or not you graduated from the 3rd grade, etc. Some voters ARE informed, too many are not.

Her questions are no more one-sided than yours or mine. We ask these questions to spark debate and get a handle on the thought processes of others. There is nothing wrong with that. Being open-minded does not mean that we have to accept or agree with other people's opinions.
Plain and simple, if you don't like RLP's questions, don't answer them. Seems reasonable to me.

I have become very selective in answering questions. The ones who bait others I often ignore. sometimes, however, I can't resist putting them straight. A lot of good it will do but it is fun anyway. Most of the time, however I just ignore the idiots on both sides and answer the ones worthy of an answer.

Lots of people here are looking for slaps on the back instead of answers, but I keep answering. I think it might be because, I just can't stop trying.

Its easy to point fingers. However, most questions arent actually looking for an answer, they are just trying to get a point across.

We all have the option of deciding whether or not to answer someone's questions. If it's obvious that someone doesn't want any answers that contradict their preconceived notions, then it's best to not answer them, unless you just want two extra points.

some people are stuck in their ways and their arrogance and are so stubborn they refuse to even listen to an opposing viewpoint. its like they just state how they feel and then put their hands over their ears.
