Depends on the reason for the absence, forced makes you grow fonder. Relocation makes you find someone else yet you still think of what could of been till you either go back or just totally forget.

What's the old saying, "absence makes the heart grow fonder"; well this works for a while, maybe two, three and maybe even six months. But, then the old saying comes into play, "absence makes the heart grow yonder". Sure we all miss our love, but when not married, and young, things go sour faster, and the longer you are apart, the more apt one or the other will stray. It happens even when married, especially when there are children from the marriage. Haven't you heard about all the "Dear John" letters going to Iraq. It is hard for any young and vibrant person to abstain from interacting with the opposite sex for any extended time. I am certain that when apart both sides go a little bit crazy at first, and then they handle it and either except the wait or start looking around. Only true true love from both will enable the separation to overcome. More don't make it than do, according to data from marriage counselors.

Absence of annoying things make me happy. Absence of loved things makes me fonder of them and sometimes crazier then I already am.

Funny you ask that, my bf was in Qatar for 2 months, he just got back, I just saw him yesterday and I don't think I feel the same way anymore. So I dunno....Absence make your heart forget the feeling of someone being there for you.
