The theory is that dust and gas in our general area contracted into a planar (flat) nebula, something like a small version of the MIlky Way but without the stars, and that as it contracted into the nebula the nebula started spinning. More exactly, since the nebula wasn't a rigid object but a collection of loose material, some collected at the center and the rest went into orbit around it. Outlying material (material outside the plane of the nebula) would be pulled over time into the plane and would pick up the orbital direction of the nebula. (Particles moving the other way would collide with forward-moving particles and accrete or change direction.)

The particles and gas at the center condensed to form the sun and as those particles were all revolving around the center, they continued to revolve as part of the sun, and the equator of the sun coincided with the plane of the rotating nebula.

The orbits of the planets coincide, or nearly so, with the sun's equator because the planets also coalesced out of the nebula, and because the nebula was in the plane of the sun's equator (or, rather, the sun's equator was in the plane of the nebula), the planets are in the same plane.

Our gravity affect the sun as well as the other planets. When all the planets are aligned together the corona is pulled much cloister to the earth.

Because the planets are debris kicked out by the sun... of course... who believes that. I think we are debris that floated past and were pulled into an orbit and the mostly parallel orbits of the planets and the asteroid belt are coincidences.

i dont know the theory but its because nebeulas form solar systems like strings of pearls with each new solar system being drawn by the one before it. ** sorry lindajun but you are mistaken the whole nebeula does not change shape and then make a galixy. it makes definet solar systems while maintaning its fluid nebeula shape.

because of the bell curve. Most stuff spins out from the center of rotation.
