People decide how to use language based on the social situation that they are in. It changes as we move from family to social or business environment. Words in and of themselves have no moral value. If you are with your friends at a party you will use different words than if you are in a court room. Some words are not considered right for children. Are those words “bad”? No. Are they in appropriate in some situations? Absolutely.

I don't think crap is a bad word and damn is used so often. I wouldn't want my child saying damn, but I'll admit I use it w/o even realizing it

any word can be a "bad" depending on how you use it, for instance, a B**** is a female dog, so it is okay to say if you are referring to a female dog but is a "bad" word if you are calling a human being a b****. damn and crap have different meanings than what we associate them with and they could mean something different in another country. so no matter what word you say depending on how and where you use it can be a "bad" word

As others have said, it really depends upon context, and who is saying them. However, both these words aren't really deemed as swear-words or cursing in modern times. Even though to say "crap" is a polite term for sh*t, and to say "damn" is somewhat blasphemous. Neither word would have been particularly acceptable 50 years ago. What can I say .... times change! Even the "f" word is acceptable in movies etc now, and that would have been unimaginable even a few years ago.

"Crap" isn't a bad word. It was made because the guy who invetned the toilet's last name was Crapper.

As for "damn", I'm not sure. I consider it a cussing word, but what do you think?

depends on how old you are. damn is sometimes considered a "bad" word among most generations. crap is bad only if a small child says it.

"Bad" words depend upon age. Damn is bad for elementary schoolers, maybe crap also. For high school kids, those are extremely mild.

The first one can be, depending on the use. If you it from the bibl or something, it wouldn't (in my opinion anyways)

Crap isn't bad word, just a word for poop. I think saying poop when you mess up or something is worse.
