Easiest way to shut down George W and Cheney is take away their troops. When Cheney was asked why he dodged the Viet Nam war he said "I had better things to do" I think all of our children have better things to do then die for Hailburton of which Cheney is the former and future CEO.

Newsflash! Only grownups in our military!

They aren't children. They are legally adults, and they get to decide for themselves.

If an 18 year old rebels to join the military, the parents lost that parenting job a long time ago.

Let's say that you are absuloutly right, which your not, but lets say you are, if no one joined the military, and we still had a need for people in Iraq, do you know what will happen? Apparently not, because if you did, you wouldn't have posted this question, but what would happen is Bush would put in place a draft, like they did in Vietnam. So, now, the "children" would be forced to go, or go to jail. Then, if they want to leave the country, fine, but they would never get to come back.
So, you should be happy that our "children" are joining the military, or you might end up drafted and be forced to fight in a war you don't believe in.

You can tell this question is asked by a liberal if he read his own question he would realize there is no logic to it.
First of all the arm services do not accept children anyone who joins our all volunteer forces do it under their own volition.

Second you make an assumption that the country is anti-Iraq war well most of them were for it and our congress were all for it 5 years ago, what they against now is probably the progress of the war in it's not coming to a quicker conclusion.

"i do no longer understand"! you don't get it. you have been fed the far, far, far left lib hate crammed dogma. the clarification why you could't understand is which you is truthfully no longer questioning for your self. don't have faith each thing you pay attention on CNN or the dislike websites. issues are no longer as undesirable as you think of. attempt vacationing the international as a lot of human beings do and see only how lots the united statesis quite wealthy. additionally, remember a president can in ordinary terms do lots. there's a element noted as "tests and balances" interior the U.S. It assures the protection of the rustic from a rogue president (like Chavez in Venezuala). Your speech of contempt should additionally incorporate the dems who've a great area in any "issues" you could think of are happening. As for the conflict. you're only spouting the lib mantra that's taught in colleges everywhere in the rustic. that's no longer an unlawful conflict. The U.N made limitless resolutions that the coalition enforced. era. Have a useful existence in case you elect for to stay in a pot of hate. lol

My "child" was 17 and still in high school when he joined. Why did I give him permission to leave for basic after graduation and he turned 18?Because he felt it was something he really wanted to do.He joined after 9/11.He was very Offended that his country had been violated. However once you sign those papers you have no CHOICE where you will go.He never got to go to Afghanistan he went to Iraq.To a war he was doubtful of.But he did his duty.Am I proud of my son? You betcha.Even though I am against this war in Iraq I give my son and every person who signs up credit. They are willing to lay their lives on the line to hopefully do some good.My son feels he is a failure because he went to Iraq instead of Afghanistan. This is now our battle at home.

Thank God you're not in charge.

And how, exactly, would you stop an adult from joining? Lock them in their bedroom? Tie them up? Why wouldn't you respect your grown child's decision? Not terribly supportive of you. Would you be upset if they announced they were gay?

Since the troops tend to support Bush, I suppose you're one of those who hates them. I'd *love* to catch some worthless, smug jerk trying to spit on a soldier....would be well worth the jail time to kick their ***.

Have a little respect for your betters. Our military deserves it. I don't care *what* you think of this particular war - it is thanks to the sacrifices of our military that you have the right and the freedom to sit at your computer and talk smack. A little appreciation would be in order.

As you say, majority, not all Americans oppose it (a shrinking group supports it, to be sure).

"Let"? As others have pointed out, only adults can sign up.

How would you propose to stop those who want to sign up from doing so?

When our children reach the age of 18, it is their decision whether or not to serve in the Armed Forces. There is no "letting" them. They choose to VOLUNTEER to serve their country and should be commended, not criticized.

Believe it or not but our Military is all voluntary. My husband is in the Army because he LOVES it. He loves to serve his country. Why take away his right to do so?

By the way, children can not enlist in the military!!

Are you going to take your army and try to eliminate the US Army? Tell your mommy you need a few more bags of toy soldiers.
