Yesterday I found out they ancidently destroyed some of my work and thought it was to go with their 'freelance' pile. Now my best work from the last five years and some that was in galleries is gone forever with only an appology note then they ask for me to resubmit it to them.

I don't know what i should do or how to feel about this or if i can do anything at this point.

what would you do

and this really happened to me yesterday really bumed out I might take Happy little tree advice though, but not sure what or if i can do anything

In some of my art classes in college the students did their portfolio by taking pictures with a digital camera. Maybe you should use this options in the future. Then if they have to see the originals you can submit them.

I feel very sorry for you. It is very time consuming to recreate your work, but you must persevere. At least the ideas that you did before are still with you. Oftentimes, the work itself is delayed because of the creativity process.

I would redo the best work and produce new work.

My art teacher had pieces of his work destroyed through shipping. He sued.

The problem that faces you is the decision weather or not you wish to work with Hallmark in the future. If you do then you cannot sue.

Good luck with your decision.

That is a tragic travesty. So sorry! You must be sick to the stomach dear. I think that the best way is to begin to move one quickly. Sorry. Someone should have expressed deeper regret to you. The truth is as much as this hurts, it just was not meant to be. Perhaps out of this pain even more meaningful work will come. God bless.

I don't understand why you wouldn't keep copies (or the originals)? I write poetry and have never realease anything without storing a copy somewhere with a date/time stamp.

I would still resubmit whatever you have, but think about looking elsewhere

I'm kind of confused about your story. How could they possibly destroy your work. I mean how careless can they get?
