When I was a senior in high school my buddy and I made a dummy. We stuffed some of my clothes with newspapers and such. We then brought the dummy, during the night, to the high school.
He climbed onto the roof. It was 3 stories high. And he took the dummy, along with a Garfield stuffed animal head. He tied the dummy, with Garfield head to hang dangling in front of the school.
It hung there all day that next day and someone took pictures of it and it made the yearbook. We never did destructive pranks. Some students put super glue in locks and caused a lot of damage or through things in the band hall and destroyed much. Some even put gasoline on the grass that killed it.
I got the idea for hanging a dummy, actually from a teacher.

a coworker lined the windsheild wiper blades of our manager's car with chocolate sauce (i work in a restaurant) during a night of light rain...easy laughs: the chocolate is not immediately noticeable, washes off quickly, & creates some confusion as it briefly smears all over the windshield. the only drawback is that we did not witness the chaos firsthand & had to await the complaints the following day...even funnier was the fact that the victim thought it was bird poop!!

My father made a convincing dummy even with shoes for Halloween and hung it in a tree pretty much the only part you can see clearly was legs and shoes. In the morning some of the neighbors were screaming in front of the house thinking that someone had actually had hung himself in the tree. My father the prankster had done it again.

You could get an unused unscented tampon (out of the applicator) and put it in their coffee or other favorite beverage! It expands and fills up almost the whole cup, but you can't see it till you take a sip! When they pull it out, the look on their face = priceless!
Or you could create an e-mail account on yahoo or something with their own name and send them weird e-mails from it.
You could do the old tape over the mouse, if you have a mouse that has a ball on it. Or tape on the office phone where the phone cradle is... the phone rings, they go to pick it up, and it keeps ringing!
Fake scratch off lottery tickets, fake letter stating they've been selected for something great or something that scares the sh** out of them!

I made a fake fax saying the local news station wanted someone in the office to do on-air commentary. It had a return fax number and everything! I left it on the incoming tray in the fax machine. It was hilarious to see them bicker about who would get to be on TV.
