I can put MOST dvds into the laptops dvd drive, but i recently bought a copy of Borat that would not work, the dvd drive would make all of these strange noises like it was jammed, and it would not read the disc. After that I put in another dvd and it worked just fine. But Borat will still not work.

>>>The computer usually makes a few noises when it reads DVDs. Usually these noises stop after a couple of seconds. When I put in borat the noises do not stop and the disc wont play. The noises come from the DVD drive itself.
>>>I have tried Borat with other DVD players and it takes longer than normal to read the disc (about double the time), but it works

>>>The laptop is only several months old and it hasn't had any other problems. I haven't played many DVDs on it.

Have you tried playing the movie in any other players? Try playing it in another player. If it doesn't play there either then it's the disc that is bad. If it does play then it sounds to me like your drive is about to go bad.

Strange noises means DVD is going to die. Yes DVD got problem better not play anymore and consult some one knows about.

Noise is the sign when DVD,CD or Hard drive started making that they are running at their highest level. These things are very sensitive, Dust, Heat and Humidity, dirty CD or DVD can cause problem.

I suggest get help from someone soon. Do not play DVD in that drive.
