In America I would say Dogs.
But, Cats are not to be ignored.
Both are important family members here.

Cats are common here and live on the streets. In general people don't have cats for this reason. They're kind of like rats in other places (just cuter). Dogs aren't really that popular, though some people do have them. Very few people have rodent pets, same as reptiles and birds. I would have to answer farm animals, in that Israel has them and they belong to people. While most people do not own them, the rates of farm animals per capita is probably highest.

In my country Iran ingeneral people dont keep pets at all but some of people who like to behave like forign people most keep dog but their number is less
