The 'truth'?
Much of the critisism comes from what the media CHOOSES to report, and what it chooses not to;
Here is a very illustrative case in point...
When the Abu Graibh scandal broke, the NY Times found it nessessary to devote front page space and photos to the story more than 70 times.(this, regardless of the fact that there was no reporting of anything 'new' on the story - same details repeated endlessly)
The David Berg beheading, by contrast, recieved a small blurb on the front page ONE time. Two subsequent mentions of the Berg case were buried in inside pages (no photos).
How about the outrage the major media expressed over right-winger Anne Coulters intemperate remarks re John Edwards...and contrast it with the same outlets blithely ignoring Rosie O'Donnells virulent anti American hate speech on national network TV.
Are you seriously saying you don't see the double standard?
Diane Fienstein resigned from a powerful Senate Committee last week amid a swirling scandal concerning her husband.
If this were a Republican, would this story have been so low key and under-reported?
How about the barely audible murmur over an 'A' list Clinton cabinet man like Sandy Berger caught RED HANDED stealing and destroying top secret documents?
Compare that to the daily barrage from the media over some AG firings.
Are you still not seeing the difference?
If not, then you are CHOOSING not to get it.

If you think that the mainstream media only prints the truth you obviously have not really been paying attention. Remember Dan Rather and the forged memo. The NY times story about a US soldier claiming to have been raped in Iraq when she had never even been to Iraq.

If you think the media only prints the truth, try reading the corrections page everyday. You will see that they get a lot wrong.

Funny thing about the Media and politics...if you don't like what its saying it becomes a tool of the opposing party...and damn that Liberal/Conservative media...all they do is lie to make the COnservatives/Liberals look bad....Truth is some media is conservative (Fox News) and other is Liberal...and each is going to spin stories to fit their political agenda, that is just the way it is...Media has long strayed from truth...it hasn't cared for truth whether it be conservative or liberal, it cares about money....Money is its main and usually only concern, truth be damned...
