I'm beginning to doubt the "official" story that the Death Star was destroyed by small rebel fighters making a highly improbable single shot. I've seen the evidence, but I just don't believe it---I'm beginning to think the whole thing was staged in a back lot in Hollywood by the hated Americans. What do you think?

Saturns moon mimas? Defintely not. This is clearly the death star. It wasn't destroyed after all.

I think you're right. What convinced me was this:

In the video of the Death Star’s destruction, Lord Vader clearly exclaims “I have you now” then fires two shots. Those shots never impact — anywhere. Were they merely “added” to the “official” video after the event to make it appear that Lord Vader had at least attempted to fight off his alleged son?

Of course!!! He didn't want to kill his own son. Deep down inside, Lord Vader has a soft gooshy spot for his long lost prodigal son. It totally explains why Lord Vader was "conveniently" outside the Death Star when it exploded. It was totally an inside job. Force, schmorce, nobody could hit a target that small while traveling at 500 meters per second. And even if they did, they would never be able to pull up in time, given the flight characteristics of Luke Skywalker's X-Wing.

It was a conspiracy and Darth Vader was in on it.

The idea that one man, Lee Harvey Skywalker, could get off the so-called "magic shot", given the small amount of reaction time, using a proton torpedo launcher purchased through a mail-order catalog from some company on Tatooine, is just ridiculous. The whole thing was whitewashed by the Imperial Senate's Commission on the Destruction of the Death Star (unofficially known as the Binks Commission).

I think it was a conspiracy. Darth Vader actually set explosive charges inside the Death Star that detonated, causing it to explode from within. Otherwise, it wouldn't have blowed up the way it did. The official theory is riduculous, it was only a government cover-up. Darth Vader used the Destruction of the Death Star as an excuse to invade the system of Hoth, that much is obvious. It made for good propaganda on Imperial TV News. Every time the Empire wanted to "Bring the Stormtroopers home" Darth would bring up the Death Star and ask "Have you forgotten already?".

Yes, the Death Star was surely destroyed by small rebel fighters using several triton filled nuclear projectiles which were launched and carefully guided into the most sensitive parts of the Death Star. The resulting detonations mortally wounded the Death Star and resulted in its total destruction.
This was a job well and professionally done by highly skilled warriors of the rebel forces. The hated Americans that you mentioned only supplied the triton core material for the rebels and had only a small part in the overall fight. That is no reason for you to hate them so much. Why don't you also hate the Ukranians who supplied the guidance systems? Why don't you hate the Pakistanis who supplied the particle accelerators? Or the French who supplied the designs for the propulsion systems used by the fighters? Your one sided hatred is just so much in error that it makes me think you are less than well informed on the subject, Sir.

The Death Star was actually destroyed by Luke Skywalker. Although Darth Vader tried to stop him, the Force was too strong in Luke.
After the death of Vader and Sidious, Luke founded the New Jedi Order. I am a Jedi still in training, but have gone around the Universe in my own spaceship.

Except Ackbar was the one who realized where Death Star was. The rebels initially thought it was in some other quadrant of space. Ackbar got the intel on where it really was. Ackbar for 2012!

I think you are right. That whole Death Star battle was staged by very good movie makers and never really happened.

Are you kidding!? Of course the Death Star was destroyed by Rebel Forces! I was there! But of course, at the time I was cringing behind a droid recharging bay peeing my pants in terror waiting to die....
