Muslim's have it.
Temporary marriage is permitted by our holy prophet(pbuh). So every muslims can avail it.
But unfortunately after the prophet(pbuh)passed ,some ones declared it as forbidden and Pervert the prophet way.
Shia whom follows only the holy prophet and his substitutes(who they are away from sins and mistakes such as the holy prophet)believes that it is permitted because the prophet has permitted it.

I have heard that such temporary marriages have been there for the purpose of getting citizenship in foreign countries.
This phenomenon of Temporary marriage can be well understood by seeing a Tamil picture released a few years before; Actor Madhavan ( The Hero) gets temporarily married to the heroine to get his stay in Australia authorised.Ultimately they really get married permanently. Picture name is s Nala Thamayanthi or so. I don't remember the Picture name correctly.

In Islam it is called Muta marriage or temporary marriage, which means marriage for short fixed period may be few hours or few days as the person going for it wants. Out of the four schools of Muslim Law i.e. the Hanafi, the Shafei,,The Ismaili & the Ithna Asfari schools it only the last of these the Ithna Asharis only give permission for such a marriage but even now amongst them the institution of Muta is obsolete. This Ithna Ashari School is amongst the Shias sect of Muslims, & even in this very small percentage contracts such marriage.
