I faced the water problem with my son as well. I use to give him water with spoon and he use to drink some and spill some. Then my husband bought a sippy cup and especially the one that is free flowing with a soft spout and not non spill. I use to put it in my sons mouth between solid feeds and take it out quickly as he was not used to drinking water like that at all. Whatever little water went in him, he learnt to drink water like that. Later he started sucking water out of it. Now I am using a non spill sippy cup. I never added sugar in water. You will see that as it gets hot, he will start taking water.
My son was also 7 months when I started this technique and today he has turned 8 months.
About the juice, I started feeding my son juice when he turned 3 months old. He stopped taking it inbetween while his teeth were coming out. Now he has started taking it again. No matter what offer him juice everyday. Consistency is the main thing. What you can also do is that add some sugar to juice and see if it tastes sweet. Then he will take it. Other thing is try to give him juice when he is sleeping. Some kids take it in their sleep.
Juice is good for their health.
Best of Luck!!

Mine wouldn't either, until they were older. Until a baby is six months old, they don't really need to eat or drink anything other than breastmilk or formula. Seven months is not much older. (Lately, it has been recommended that young children not drink juice, anyway.) Baby foods contain a lot of water. You can always leave a bottle (or sippy-cup) of water around. One day she may surprise you. But for now, she should still be getting enough to drink from her mother's milk or formula. If you are very concerned about it, talk with her doctor.

Water is great for a baby to drink.... pediatricians recommend it from birth on. Try putting little bit of sugar in the water to make it sweet it is more appetizing for the little one to drink. As for the juice its ok for the baby the baby to have juice just water it down usually bout half and half. Offer the baby a variety and find what they like.

Nobody NEEDS juice, baby or otherwise. For water, just continue offering the sippy cup. She'll eventually get it. It's not a big deal if she doesn't get the hang of it for a while. My kids both took to sippy cups with straws before the kinds with a spout.

OH MY! Let's get this straight...
Babies under 1 yr get plenty of water in their formula. But when you start feeding her the 2nd and 3rd stage solids, she will probably need some more fluids so her stools aren't so tough to pass. Even then, don't give stright juice. Water it down... a lot. Technically, kids under school age shouldn't get straight juice because it's actually not that nutritious but is a major appetite killer.
I think you'll find that as your daughter starts eating more solids, she will WANT more fluids.

Babies under a year old shouldn't be getting water or juice at all unless directed by a doctor to treat a symptom. (i.e. chronic constipation) They get ALL their fluid and nutritional needs met from formula or breastmilk and don't need any other fluids. (Becoming dehydrated is not an issue unless the baby is sick and then their doctor should be consulted anyway!)
Giving water or juice to an infant only fills their tiny tummies with something that provides no nutritional support and keeps them from taking their regular feedings.

At 7 months, the baby still mostly wants formula. You can try to continue giving to him, but they will not take too much. He should drink a little water. I wouldn't worry, as long as she is taking her formula, you will be fine

WIC recommended to me that my daughter start drinking water and juices at age 5 months. They said 4 onces of each daily is good.

It all depends what she is eating in the day and also if you are breast feeding. Breast fed babies tend to not need as much water as formula fed babies. She might not like the taste of the juice try a different brand.

It's fine. I don't even think water is recommended for a baby that young, unless it is just little sips here and there. You will probably find that as your baby gets to be just a LITTLE bit older, esp with hot weather coming, that cold water out of a sippy cup might taste a lot better to her!
