I agree Joe! I wasn't going to answer this because it would turn into a rant...but,you know how it is.
Government spending has always been outrageous...now it's getting ridiculous.
Here's an example: The state of Michigan has maxed their credit out. That means that they WILL NOT be able to pay their bills due. They want to increase out of state tourists to bring in money, like the "old days". One of the main reasons out of staters don't come here is the high gas prices. (We have the highest tax on gas in the NATION) I just heard today that they want to increase this tax by 9 cents again! To "improve" roads. What a joke! Michigan ranks 42nd in road quality. That's what gas taxes are supposed to pay for. Michigan has already greatly reduce the amount of police road patrols, and are going to close two State Police posts. Hell,at this rate we should be about as economically sound as Mexico by the end of the year!
Sorry about the blog.

That's not to run for president - that's merely for the first part of the primaries.

To run for president costs in the hundreds of millions. In 2004, Bush raised $269.6 million and Kerry raised $234.6 million.

Despite all the complaints about money, the fact is that this pays for TV, radio and print ads, billboards and lawn signs and posters, mail and phone campaigns and polls and surveys, pays for travel expenses of the candidates and their coordinators, pays for campaign events and use of facilities for gatherings, speeches, rallies, pays for renting of offices to run campaigns in many locations in each state, pays for phones and voter vans, etc, etc.

Who is going to pay for all this, if they don't raise the money? The taxpayer??? To heck with that! There should not even be federal matching funds - that is a corrupt practice that needs elimination.

It's not the money that's the problem - it is the candidates.
