"If it were not for Americans this world would be a total disaster."
You mean a disaster like HIroshima? or the 4M dead in Vietnam? nah, you must mean a disaster like your obesity epidemic or your lowest ranking in education in the industrial world. I know, you mean like the poisoning of our rivers and atmosphere and the destruction of international law.
Wait, the US did all that.

"NSC 68 was against the Communist Block and specifically Russia."
Nsc 68 specifies that US interests involve the whole world. It means the US will send its troops anywhere in the world to coerce others into following US orders. Read a little.

Actually when you take away the pointless American bashing in this question, it is one of the most intreguing ones I have seen lately.

Lets dissect the message:

I keep on reading it and i can't believe it - "Believe nothing, no matter where you read it, or who said it, no matter if I have said it, unless it agrees with your own reason and your own common sense" - Budda (also fat but, one could argue the waste of water, and distinctly not American).

Do you people know so very little about history? - As Douglas Hurd (whom I do not remember as distinctly fat, and who is also not American) so aply put - "Indeed it is a characteristic of most human beings, whether politicians or not, to flatter themselves on their knowledge of history."

maybe you deserve to be manuipulated. "The conscious and intelligent manipulation of the organized habits and opinions of the masses is an important element in democratic society." Edward Bernays

After all, ignorance is inexcusable in the richest country in the world. - "A learned blockhead is a greater blockhead than an ignorant one." - Benjamin Franklin (naturalised American and somewhat portly, at least in the portraits, and arguably not a waste of water).

I still can't come to grips with it. - Perhaps taking the advise of Abraham Lincoln would help (definately American, definately not fat, and most likely he did not waste much water) "Hold on with a bulldog grip, and chew and choke as much as possible."

Ya all know about NSC 68? - I am pretty sure ALL Americans do not know about the detail of the policy. I am pretty sure a good number of them remember the cold war. I am also pretty sure that the arguement in favour of blaming all of theanger in the world that is currently directed at the United Stated finds its roots in this policy is greatly flawed. A number of the reasons of "people wanting to kill us" is the role the US played in the creation of Isreal after WWII which preceeds said document by 2 years. I also believe that the reasons for the anomisity can be traced back to more recent events (which I will assume you can deduce from your deep knowledge of history).

Please, read a little - Actually don't read a little, read alot. I would also recommend reading books from people who are not of a like mind, so that you can learn why they think differently and maybe, just maybe, remove some of your own biases.

Fat and ignorant, what a waste of water. "Crude classifications and false generalizations are the curse of organized life. " George Berhard Shaw (Not sure on his physique as I don't recollect a picture of him, Not American and not a waste of water).

Now to answer the question.

I do believe that are some Americans who believe in this vast conspiracy. I also know there are some who believe in UFOs.

Religions try to define absolutes and sometimes these absolutes overlap, causing conflict. Going back much farther in history, you only need to look at the Crusades to see the desire of a religious organsiation to spread its beliefs to other parts of the world. However back then the reach of individauls was limited and it took kings and rulers to fund and execute such activities.

Today however, with individual financial backing, it no longer takes a large government to drive these activities. There can be small pockets of people who truely believe that a united muslim world is the ultimate end goal for their religion. A true conspiracy is only really successful if the number of people "in the know" is limited. Given the effect of a small number of people on 9/11, it is not unlikely that the people believe a conspiracy exists.

This is a complex world. There are undoubtable conspiracies for many things.

For what I believe, there is no conspiracy.

However, people will believe what they want to believe.

Boonietech: I agree that the UN was the body that created Isreal in 1948, however I do not see how you can distance the US from the UN in the creation of Isreal just by blaming it on the "lefties", and to be honest, most of the people who are "trying to kill the US" will not make the same distinction. Also I do not share in your beliefs in the altruism of the crusades. A discussion on our different views on this latter point is best left for another time.

It's called MATH. It doesn't have to be a "conspiracy". With rampant socialism eroding western, Christian family values, the birthrates for western cultures are dropping close to zero-pop growth (Just as all the ZPG nazis had hoped for). At the same time, as muslims are migrating to western areas with lower childhood mortality rates, birth to adult survival rates among fundamentalists are actually rising. At some point in the near future, the EU will start to lose western influence in their representative bodies, as growing muslim areas are able to elect more and more muslims to seats of power. Eventually a critical mass will be achieved.

Hope you like burqas...

NSC 68 became irrelevant as soon as the Soviet Union was killed off. It has nothing to do with the teachings of a 6th century pedophile. It was a 1950 report on a failed pile-o-commies.

Jamie G: corrections: Israel was created by the leftie's precious UN. And the "Crusades" were the Christian reaction to the Islamic invasion of the Holy Land. They were up to their jihadi ways even back then.

NSC 68 was against the Communist Block and specifically Russia. You got that wrong to begin with.

And the reason people worry about a Muslim takeover is because there are many daily that call for the death of America and Israel. The most radical even go to blowing themselves up in a crowd and teaching their children it is ok to suicide bomb. You don't see any other major religion promoting the blowing up of its people for the promotion of a goal. At least I haven't seen any Christians or Jews blow themselves up in a square to rid the world of those who don't believe like they do.

Moslem's almost got all of Europe once before, they are trying again and it seem to be succeeding due to apathy and arrogance of the Europeans.
Moslem's are fighting in the Middle East, parts of Europe, the Philippines, Indonesia, Africa and are immigrating to Britain and the Americas in droves. It might not be a conspiracy but their form of fanaticism is not tolerant of any other religion once they have terrorized the population.
My guy was in Oman before we had any war going on over there. He was only allowed to walk on a small strip of unholy ground to and from his work nor could he talk to anyone because he was infidel. Needlesstosay, he got his work done in record time to get the heck out of there!

Your question is inherently inconsistent. You start off by questioning the "vast conspiracy," but then you say "maybe that will explain why people are trying to kill you all."

So basically you are saying there is no conspiracy, but if there IS a conspiracy, it's our fault anyway? That makes no sense.

The tenets of islam call for the entire world to be muslim. Only the mechanics of the method of conversion differ from sect to sect. The koran itself says that non-muslim people in islamic countries are to be offered the choices of conversion, death, or being taxed into subservience (actually, the taxing is only for Christians and Jews).
Also, muslims are not allowed to convert to any other religion or return to their prior religion (penalty: death).
Also, any land that was ever under control of islam is to be considered ALWAYS to be under control of islam.

Sounds like a plan to make the world muslim to me.

No, most Americans do not believe that. I, however believe that the right wing Christians do. The funny part is that they themselves believe the whole world should be Christian, and they are on a mission to achieve that.
As far as your comments about all of us being fat and ignorant, I think you need to read a little. If it were not for Americans this world would be a total disaster.

No. We do see the difference in how the Christian religion is targeted for negative attacks where the Muslim religion believers should be coddled and catered to as to not offend them.
I might add that your rant here is not very tolerant. Why do you believe that we should be openly accepting to all even those who want to kill us. But you don't have to abide by the same logic?

Yes a disturbing number of people do believe this...listen to talk radio sometime, especially in a southern state. It is frustrating seeing people manipulated and lied to on a daily basis...they swallow it hook, line and sinker everytime. It's this 'convenient system of myths' that allows this country to do what it does... people choose ignorance because there really is no motive or payoff to examine history, current events..or to think outside the box in general.
