some car accidence were caused by losing control on steering wheel. what would casue steering wheel uncontrolable to the driver.

A lot of times, the power steering belt brakes and if you ever experienced that, it is very hard to turn the wheel.

If you were being targeted by some criminals and they damaged your steering system.
Or if it's not a power steering system it could be hard to steer in some situations.

There may have been a serious mechanical failure such as a tie-rod, idler rod, center link separations.
Damaged bent wheels may cause a tire to go flat immediately.
Strut breakage.
Ball joint breakage causing the spindle to fold beneath your car ripping into your oil and or transmission pan.
Steering rack failure inner tie-rod or outer tie-rod failure

falling asleep,,, inattention [messing with phone .radio] actual loss of steering is so rare as to be a made up excuse
