Basketball between your knees- laying down and squeeze knees together against the ball. Makes for strong upper legs to grasp saddle more firmly.

Well first I ride horses all the time and I love horses.
You could stretch before you ride or work out the muscles that you need to get stronger there arealso some books about horsebackriding and which tell you which excersizes (suck at spelling sorry) to do at the gym depending on what you are doing on the horse. I really hope this helps.

Besides tennis and swimming, that is the most exersize I've ever gotten..I was a strong sturdy kid because of riding horses everyday.. and I believe I had a mild form of ms as a teenager.. I am now 34 and multiple sclerosis is trying to peak its ugly head out and I have continuously wondered if riding isn't going to be my cure.. You have to keep riding, every day or every other day and every muscle in your body with get extremely strong.. your body will be releasing hormones it never new it had. Your muscles will get sooo strong... so extremely strong. I know that your inner thigh muscles just feel like your dying for a week sometimes two after a first or second ride.. but you have to eat an ibuprofen and get right back on her/him.. and keep riding..You will notice strengths and abilities you've forgotten you had..like jumping off the top step or jumping off the tailgate of the truck instead of turning around backwards and sliding your foot everywhere trying to figure how to gently get down....When you've been riding horses for a while you get sooooo dang strong you start doing things like jumping off the tailgate...Good Luck alnd God Bless you

Riding is actually an exercise and burns calories. As any exercise the more you slowly increase your repetitions the stronger and more durable you become. So, try to ride more often and slowly build on the amount of time you ride.

I discovered a thanks to journey on arabians at an all arab or arab go barn and loved them on the time. on the grounds that then I genuinely have lengthy gone to a specially inventory horse barn and that i will't say i love them a lot anymore. i do not extremely look after a fashion they're equipped, they're very almost too tender. those I genuinely have dealt with are intense strung, flighty, difficult to cope with, and style of a discomfort in the butt all the way round. notwithstanding: i'm now leasing a Qh/Arab (or QuArab in case you want.) who's between the right horses I genuinely have ever worked with. He has the brains of an Arab, notwithstanding the willingness, affection, and muscle of a QH. My coach also discovered this lovable little arab gelding at an public sale, and he has grew to grow to be out to be an fairly good little ones horse. he's not the sharpest knife in the drawer, yet he's prepared and a complete extremely sweetheart. Very compared to the educate Arabians I genuinely have had adventure with. So I genuinely have come to the decision that for the time of customary i'm no longer keen on Arabians and can't see myself owing a purebred arabian, yet there are certain ones and certain crosses who I do like. don't love ninety% of them, yet the different 10% are ok. Quarter horses or paints are a thanks to pass :)

I also ride. The best advise I can give you is make sure you stretch your legs before you ride. As for the longer rider just gradually build up to them, don't over do it or you will be so sore the next day. Trust me, I have done it...!

Jump on a trampoline and ride a unicycle. It will improve your balance. You can also just do normal work-out work-outs like crunches, Tae-Bo, etc.
Another thing you can do that is aimed at riding is get one of those big exercise balls and sit on it like it's a horse. Squeeze your knees togethor as hard as you can, count to three and release. (repeat)
