And are you rude about it, do you degrade the person because of the answer they gave you, even though they were just like everyone else here, answering your question?

AND then you strike up a bit of chat with them and the understanding get cleared up?!

I never contact people who answer my questions, good or bad. I've had a couple of people contact me, half to bash my answer to a question, half wanted to discuss further. I never respond to the bashers, just delete the message. Life is short, etc.
I always just use the email connection on the profile page--that way Yahoo masks your real email address, only uses each other's screen names. I've only had one request for an actual email exchange, but I ignored it, stuck with the Yahoo utility and he lost interest apparently.
I do have one special friend I've connected with in Answers where we use direct email now, but that's the only exception. Oddly enough, the profile for my main account shows my "live" email address for this account, but no one has ever used it. I'm apparently either not interesting enough or not abrasive enough under that screen name for anyone to want to pursue me. Probably because I try to be more careful over there as it is my main account (the reason I gave my address to my friend was that the account I was using got deleted).

On occasion I have.
I DO however, receive MANY emails from people whose questions I've answered. Quite a number of twisted little b@stards those people are.

I never have e-mailed anyone who answered my questions.
But I have had some who E-mailed me, some to thank me, and others, wishing for more details.
They have always been polite and friendly. We never went beyond the one or two e-mails.

continually, yet who stops first is my predicament. i'm getting an e mail and answer it, then the fellow emails me decrease back, then I e mail him/her, even with this the fellow emails me decrease back. that's ultimately me who breaks the chain.

I've e-mailed them, but not to argue, just to compliment or talk. I've gotten some really really crude e-mails, I just send them to Yahoo.

i might've emailed one person here but it wasn't because they gave me an answer i didn't like. everybody has their own opinions and i don't try to change them although i report all the trolls here.

I do to very few people. But when I have, I believe that I have been extremely civil and respectful.

No, not really. I just ignore them, if they say something to me I don't like, I am not going to message them so I can hear more things I don't like.

No, I'd never e-mail people who answer my question...
If I had something to say to them, I'd put an addition to my question...
