there are lot of free email providers on the net... how do they make money? becoz lot of ppl who use them doesnt pay anything to them? i am one of the example..... then how do they make money?

Almost all free email providers use webmail products. They serve up ads along side your messages and make their money from the advertising.

Because most attach a small advertisement to your e-mail.
Look at Yahoo if you have an email. In your email up on the right is "Mail Upgrades" click and you can buy an email for a small amount per year and then they not attach the ads to your mail.

They make money from other company's, the advertise their products on web site for example when you login then you see in you inbox lots of messages flashes on right, top and bottom side. thousands of people visit these site from their inbox. but if you have a paid account then you can see their are no add.

I had this question in mind for long time .
I think the only way they could get money is through constant
advertisements of their sponsors.We see advertisements on the web everywhere today .even if you are writing someone an Email you can see them on top of your screen .SO
this is my opinion.

From the companies that advertise on their sites. The more popular they are, for example yahoo is very popular, the more they can charge to allow advertisers to advertise on their site.
