I get all the way through and it wants a domain name. It sets up and synch but will not pass internet to the host pc. Numbers appear to be ok.

I've never had to use the domain name in the setup of a wireless router so I really don't think you need that. If you have a linksys see if it has that secure easy setup button on it works great for configuring it. Check out the following links for tools from linksys to help you.

The domain name comes from you ISP. You want to configure it to automatically get it's IP address and other "network" configuration information from the ISP. Not sure which knob you turn for that.

Suggest you reset to factory defaults and try again.

You also want to turn on NAT (probably does that by default). The way this works is that the router gets it's IP address, DNS, subnet mask etc.. for the "WAN" side from the ISP. Then the router provides the same information to the "LAN" side, your PC.

I have a Nortel router, it worked out of the box without having to make much if any configuration settings as I recall?

Get the Domain Name from your ISP
Turn the router Off, use the Modem Only
Got to Command line; Use ipconfig/all, and it will display the domain name, and then redo the LINKSYS cd setup and use the Domain name from the ipconfig/all

The best thing to do is to push tyhe reset button on the back of the router for about a minute. This will get it back to factory settings. See if you can get on-line now. I don't use a domain and it worked out of the box.
