The weather was great for weeks and so I planted tomatoes in a planter (moveable) and now the weather is predicted to drop to freezing at night. There are several flowers on it now. Should I bring the plants inside until the weather changes?? Thanks for any help.

My dad grows wonderful tomatoes and he babies them to death until the summer. If the planter is moveable I would bring them inside.

Dad keeps his tomato plants in individual pots. If the temps are supposed to drop through the night he will bring them in and then set them back out that morning.

I set mine out in pots but too many to bring inside. I covered them with a blanket and stuck some sticks around them to hold the blanket up off the plants. I also had some straw around and mounded it around the group of pots. Do not use plastic to cover plants. If it touches them, it will intensify the cold. Only use plastic over a blanket or other covering.

In Florida tomatoes could desire to be planted in late wintry climate after hazard of frost, or early spring. i does not propose bringing them in until you place them out each and every morning because of the fact they choose 4-6 hours of solar an afternoon to outlive. be valuable to water them with a million-2 inches of water a week, with heavy soakings as quickly as a week. you're assume to fertilize once you plant them and for the time of so they acquire the right nutrition to advance. be valuable to toddler them because of the fact pesticides love feeding on them. And wish they survive you planting them out of required planting situations. stable luck...

Could you put them in a garage or shed for now? Just to avoid the frost. They will be ok in the cold, just not against the elements.

If there's frost in the forecast (there is here), bring 'em in at night.
