Nope, I put up a fence last summer. The only reason the neighbors get pissy is because they can no longer be nosey and see what you're up to.
Put up your fence, who cares what anyone says.

If you have kids of your own you could always tell them that your putting the fence up for the safety of your child/children (that's what we told ours) if that's not the case with you then I think that you shouldn't care if they get offended. It's your yard and NOT an extension of their own.

Privacy is an unwritten right. They shouldn't be offended unless you only put up a fence on the border of the yard they share with you.

Who cares if they do. We are putting one up because my neighbor's horses keep coming for a visit. In the beginning it was just 2 now we're up to 5 horses and 6 dogs that are coming to visit almost every day.

You are entitled to protect your own area. But while putting up the fence, do take care, not to over-step into "any" of your neighbors' areas.

Normally you put a fence because "you" are offended. Who cares what "they" think?

If you want to know whether or not they are offended, ask them. It's your property, if you want a fence go for it. If they get offended, it's their problem for taking it personally.
