I believe there is nothing wrong with that unless your relationship is unhealthy. You have to realize that just because your family is blood does necessarily mean you have to like them or get along w/ them. Friends are usually just jealous because they want what you got. Or they wouldn't complain, they would be supportive. If your relationship is healthy and you're happy, don't let the haters stand in the way. I found in my own life that pushing away the negative people, including my fam and friends, has led my relationship and career to improve. It may sound harsh to small minded people, but you have to live for you and don't listen to the negative vibes from the others around you. It will eat you up! I would do anything for my husband and vice versa. Nothing wrong with that!

Let's say you do choose this guy over you're friends and family. And then you guys have a relationship. When you guys break up, who's shoulder are you going to cry on? Who is going to be with you when you burst all your tears? Think about that, and you'll find your answer...

I lost all my friends for a girl, a couple of times over, but then most of my friends were female to begin with and that tends to make girlfriends jealous
true love trumps all the friends that would dump you for a crush.

It is not an indicator of good mental health to loose all your friends over a boy.

It's easy to get caught up in your man and want to spend all of your time with him. But he might get smothered and if you guys break up later, you will need your friends and family. moderation is a good thing.

yep. that's bad. you lose your sense of self before long and there is no one to blame but you. it's important to still be an individual, even in marriage.
