In Hinduism, one of the aim's of man is to free himself from the cycle and achieve the level of the gods. Hinduism, like ALL other religions aspires to take man to god, and to make man a part of god. Hinduism teaches that man should constantly purify himself, develop virtue, goodness and dignity with a sense of godliness. Even the religions of India's abrahamic people (christians, jews and moslems) teach values such as hard work, discipline, charity, masculinity, love, the discrimination between right and work, high standards and values, morals, and the idea that manliness is next to godliness.

Homosexuality is antithetical to these tenets in every way. Whereas ALL religions aspire to embody god in man, gayness aspires to destroy virtue and reduce man to the lowest of the low - the gutter and sewage levels. It is NOT natural. It is a disorder and a many have termed it a disease.

It can destroy a civilisation (like Romans and Greeks) if it becomes prevalent.

If China and Saudi Arabia can do it, why can't India? Moreover, it is the exact prevalence of this disorder that is causing the west to become decadent.

I completely agree with you, my friend. I am christian and I really appreciate the way you expressed your beliefs. It is true, and even though so many religions may conflict with each other, at least we hold certain values sacred.
Gay men defile themselves like pigs, and their diseased filth spreads in the form of AIDS even to innocents like children.
It is terrible, but they will be judged by God someday. And until then i only hope that the USA does not legalize gay marriage everywhere! In some states it's already legal; and to think, it is illegal for cousins to marry!
Now i'm all upset. :)

Just in case you forgot - Saudi Arabia and China are not democracies like India. If there is enough space in India for intolerant people, like yourself, there is enough place for homosexuals too. The argument that gay men embody all that is wrong with mankind holds no ground. Take a closer look at yourself and become more tolerant.

Gandhi, who was born in India, preached tolerance; which you ought to be practising. Half of the world's problems arise out of intolerance.

Grow up.

Another Reminder: People don't outlaw disorders, you treat them. Autism, kleptomania, Down's syndrome were never banned.

no because government is not to be based on religion so no matter how passionately you think it is wrong, that is none of the business. Even if you can PROVE it is religiously wrong...still...NONE OF THEIR BUSINESS.
I remember everyone getting outraged at Elton John saying he thought organized religion should be outlawed... she said "why, just bc he doesnt believe in it doesnt mean it should be against the law...oooooooooooooooohhhhhhhhh....good point...bc that is exactly what we are doing."
regardless of right or wrong the government isnt based on that...
I am a Christian and do not believe homosexuality is morally acceptable, but God help us when the Government bases its decisions on mine or anyone elses religious views.

I wonder...would you like various regions in which your religious beliefs are a minority to take up the principle you propose...agree with them or be deported.

what an aweful world that would be and where would it end...
i can only imagine

ps though i might see some thought behind the Roman comparison Greek civilization did not end bc of homosexuality. Greek civilization ended bc Octavian defeated Cleopatra( of the Ptolomy line, given control upon Alexander the Great's death) and Marc Anthony at the battle of Acctium leading to their suicides. Even then they didnt have much power. Alexander's death really was the end of Magna Graecia. so..yea...homosexuality had nothing to do with that...if it did...why would another society (rome) with more gays than Greece be successful (wouldnt a more pure society have conquered most of the world if your theories were true.

Please dont get religion into these things. It is a matter of choice of such people and today it is homosexuality, tomorrow you may suggest any form of contacts should be banned. As if this is the only antithetical things that happen in this world. There are even worse things which need urgent intervention, instead of wasting efforts on two guys/gals have a whale of time (especially if it is with consent). Don't tell me raping or forcing yourselves on another person is ethical. So kid....seems you have got it all wrong. Keep religion away from such discussions. Just because some pseudo-intellectual blabbers soemthing and takes shielf of religion, it can't be the gospel. And another obvious thing is you must be a real MCP :-)

However, I appreciate your guts in publicly quoting something non-factual and things that are totally wrong. All which is quoted by you seem awfully out of place. Go to sleep Kid!

1) How is homosexuality (even to the most extreme advocate) antithetical to love, charity, masculinity, hard work and the idea that manliness is next to godliness? Homosexuals by definition love men. That's not against love. Being homosexual does not mean you cannot be charitable. Homosexuals are not necesarily ashamed of their masculinity.
Homosexuals are perfectly capable of hard work. Homosexuals may (wrongly as it's SO mysogynistic) believe manliness is next to godliness.

2) Homosexuality may be observed FREQUENTLY in nature. If God(s) created animals perfectly then why do chimpanzees (for instance) use both hetero and homosexual sex as a status symbol?

3) Saying heterosexuals are 'more godly' than homosexuals smacks oh-so-strongly of "I art holier than thou" Is not pride one of the greatest sins? Is judgement not the reserve of god(s)?

4) Many have termed Democracy a disease. Many have termed Capitalism a disease. Many have termed blacks or women as a disease. Doesn't mean they're right.

5) The Grecian empire was destroyed BY the Roman empire. The Roman empire was destroyed by Germanic peoples. Was the British empire wiped out by homosexuals? How about the Soviet empire? Or the French? My, those homosexuals sure are prevalent and mighty.

But hey, why pick on homosexuals? You seem to detest women on an almost similar level "MANLINESS is next to Godliness". Perhaps it's because women have already been given the power to shut you up that you don't criticise them openly.

If anything, heterosexism should be outlawed. I'd say deport your @$s but I wouldn't want you any closer to my side of the planet.

A friend of mine came from India and he's queer. He grew up in Hinduism and says it's about LOVE. Besides, what's more manly then two men getting it on? The Romans and Greeks fell because of war and hatred, not their homosexuality, pedophilism and overeating.

No, i do no longer agreee, and this is why: I even have accomplished Christian missionary paintings, and that i took a visit to India final fall. possibly there are gays in India, whether that's no longer prevailent, as different issues. You communicate approximately Hinduism. the great situation is AIDS. How do households, complete households get afflicted with AIDS? via fact the husband/father visits the Hindu temples and has intercourse with the Hindu Temple Prostitutes. that's a fact. I even have pronounced it with them. Then, they create AIDS domicile to their households. Then what happens? instead of the electorate assisting them, like they do here in u . s . of america, the AIDS victims are outcast with the help of society and their kin. I visited a Christian commune in India, for those laid low with AIDS. they have not any the place else to pass. I help slightly woman there, who's 10 years previous. $one hundred a month helps her thoroughly, which comprise scientific expenditures. So instead of screaming "DEPORT THEM", why no longer dig deep into your heart and do some thing to help them? Convert this ability you have into some thing useful.

Homeosexuals are part of the World. It is not just men involved in this but Women also. I have mixed feelings on this issue because I was raised a Christian and taught that Homosexuality is wrong, but I have met some in the Work Place and they are some of the nicest people I have ever met. They do not knock me for my Beliefs, so I try not to judge them. God Made us all and Loves all of us, even if we Sin.

You talk a good deal of bullshit. I consider those people violent who interfere with the life of other people. Why homosexuality should be outlawed? Outlaw sex itself. Don't you think it is stupid to engage in sex. Man who should be striving to become gods is engaging in sex? So silly it looks and now the technology is available to produce babies without sex. There are so many fools in this world WHO teaches absurd ideas. If some people engages in homo sexuality and enjoys it what is your problem? Has any special messenger from god visited you and entrusted the morality of this world on your shoulders?

I do not believe that homosexuality is prevalent enough anywhere to destroy a civilization. If it were capable of doing that, why would we still be here. I almost understand what you are trying to explain about Hinduism. But, arent Hindus a civilized people? In my King James Bible, the references to homosexuality exist because IT has existed since time began. Ins't that a good test of whether or not it can destroy a civilization? Stories you may have heard about it destroying Roman and Greek civilization are mostly symbolic. They were told for the purpose of spreading hate. I wasn't aware that the spreading of hate was a tenet of the Hindu faith.

In part, you have answered your own question. Homosexuality can be termed a disorder, but not necessarily a disease. But if it were a disease, aren't the ill to be pitied instead of exiled? I think in most religions, aspiring to be like God is a common and wonderful thread. But I also believe that it is one that each person has to decide for his or her self. So even as a Hindu, if you are being as God-like as possible, you don't really have the time to judge and condemn others. Vengence is not ours. Let God take care of it.

Do you think all those who commit adultery should also be deported. I don't think many people would be left. I think one should clean up ones own acts before trying to redecorate someone Else's house. As long as people attempt to live in peace and harmony and not to hurt others does it matter wether they are a gorilla or a monkey?
