OK, I'll go there. This will definitely not be your best answer, Mari.
You obviously see something in common with the two of them -- I wonder what????
They have NOTHING in common and should not be written in the same sentence. Sanjaya is a kind of cute kid who has gone this far on his endearing charm and America's campy sense of humor. Nothing more.
Obama is a MAN of substance who is extremely well educated, more intelligent than several of us here on yahoo! Answers put together, and who has a dynamic, forward-thinking personality.
If you do not like the political positions of Senator Obama, that's fine! This is America! However, do yourself and others a favor and come clean with the real parallel you see with these two most-different individuals.
Can you see the Venn diagram??

Well we know Sanjaya would be a bad choice for singing, perhaps he's fun and people enjoy seeing if they can keep him on the show. Baraak is a different story. A brilliant politician for sure, but what kind of president would he make? Who knows???

I agree with you. You are not wrong for thinking. But just wait, you have spoken against the liberals choice, so they will call you names, make fun of you, shout you down, say you are a racist, all these things because you don't accept their views. Talk about lack of freedom of speech. Someone prove me wrong.
Sanjaya, has every Motel 6, Days Inn calling in and voting in a block. yes, I think members of his ethnic group are voting in block, he sure is not an American Idol, well maybe for his ethnic group.
Who said, Obama is very articulate? And that got him in trouble??? get real

You have shown your IQ, ( idiot quotient) to take American Ido and compare it to a Presidential election process.
Obama has substance and is not making himself look like a twit.

It's a simple matter of people picking style over substance in both cases.
