She has a hidden agenda to undermine the Bush administration while making it look like she's some great world peace ambassador. She might even be campaigning for the Nobel Peace prize, which in itself has become a sham.

She's a giullable dolt just like the rest of the moron liberals. She has a right to go visit foreign countries, true, but she does not have the right to negotiate any "deals". That oversteps her authority, and she should be punished for her foolish actions. Then she is gullable enough to sit there all smiles and actually believe that liar when he says Syria is ready for peace. Yeah right, and men never go bald. All she did was legitimize a known terrorist leader, and that is also criminally wrong.

She is to be commended. We need more leadership and initiative like Pelosi's, and less of the Bush Administration's name-calling and belligerence.

I thought this was a free country...last time I checked Syria was actually an fighting ally of America in the first Persian War conflict to eject Saddam out of Kuwait. I guess Syria was OK guys then. Huh?!

Come Conservatives...where are all booos...give more thumbs downs. You can do better then that.

She did part of her job contrary to what some idiots here believe. It seems you have forgotten your civics class. We have separate BUT EQUAL branches of government.
If it means that someone will start a dialogue well good for her. The Bush high school clique mentality crap of " you can't talk to that person" has not worked.

The President is also a stinking hypocrite.
He did not open his mouth when the 3 REPUBLICANS, Frank Wolf of Virginia, Joseph Pitts of Pennsylvania and Robert Aderholt of Alabama, went to Syria last week and met with Assad yet he is raising a stink because the Democrat and a woman no less went. She ALSO had a Republican David Hobson in her delegation.
Syria said they wanted to talk to Israel, Israel wanted to do the same. Pelosi tried to facilitate the start of dialogue.
Pelosi spokesman Brendan Daly said Pelosi went because it was recommended by the Iraq Study Group. In a statement, he said she intended to discuss "a wide range of security issues affecting the United States."
Pelosi said she had no illusions about convincing the Syrians to reign in support for Hezbollah militants in Lebanon or Hamas in the Palestinian territories.

WE are the ones who don't live there and don't give a rat's patootie on how the people who live there survive and under what conditions, yet we want to dictate who they speak to. Bush needs to grow up.

It's a step in the right direction. I'm not sure if she has actually accomplished anything other than a show of goodwill. She has shown the world that the US is capable of diplomacy with their enemies. It's o.k. to make an overture towards a mutual olive branch. She has also shown the world that the US is capable of behaving rationally and if Syria continues to behave irrationally, it will be Syria that is to blame not the US.

I think it was foolish of her, but I wouldn't have minded if she took Rosie O'Donnell with her.

And some Republicans went to Syria that previous week and Bush scolded them too.

She's trying to soften relationships.

The US is essentially labeled a rogue nation by the rest of the world. They think we're going to attack and invade more countries on a whim.

If we continue to be hated so much, there absolutely will be more attacks on American soil.

And realistically, we can't go to war with every nation that has terrorists. We're spread thin.

Now what's your take on the 3 Republicans that were visiting the same time Pelosi was?

She scares the hell out of me. She thinks that she has gained so much power that she gets to rule this country. Unfortunately she thinks everyone is a liberal and agrees with her. I personally feel what she has done is similar to Jane Fonda's actions in Vietnam (i.e. verge of treason)!
