I am a part of a reggae band. We play roots and dancehall reggae. I need a synthesizer/keyboard that can perform many splits and can have a very fast access with these splits. Another thing is also the quality of the sound especially the pianos, organs, strings, trumpets and others. I also do a little song writing. I was choosing between Korg TR61 and the Roland Juno-G. Can anybody suggest which one is the better for me? Or can anybody suggest other keyboards/synthesizers which match to my expectations and cost 1000$ or less? I would appreciate any help.

New, you probably cannot do better than the makes and models you have named. Be sure to check out the lesser known brands, sometimes they will surprise you. I would be looking to buy used if I were in your shoes. You MIGHT be able to get a higher end one for a good price. Those that use actual digital sampling of the instruments tend to have the best sound. Some regular organs have this feature. Be sure to check not only the sound, but the action of the keys. EVERY key. Most pro keyboard players I know have at least two different keyboards, often four or five units of different makes and models. So far as I know, no single unit does everything well. Good luck.

Go to www.musiciansfriendcom and get a Roland Fantom Xa. It has all the sounds your want and more. It also has sampling capability that will let you add anything you need. They also come up for sale on eBay used.
