I've checked my details and they're all correct. Port 21, Passive Mode...

but GUESS WHAT I GET!:

530 Login incorrect

Don't dare tell me to check them again! I spent one hour checking and attempting unsuccesfully to login!

Contact you FTP operator and make sure of the pass & login. Many FTP servers are case sensitive. This is definately a problem of having the wrong login/pass combo.

If you're getting a 530 error, then the "passive mode" and "port 21" isn't a problem. You're obviously having no trouble COMMUNICATING with the FTP server. However, there is an authentication issue. A 530 means that the username and password did not match the settings on the server. They both CAN be case-sensitive. Sometimes a mistake that I make (either on the client or on the server) is to have a leading space in the username (because I copied and pasted).

But the 530 error definitely means that the username/password combo didn't match what was on the server.

Hope this helps.

You've got everything setup fine the way it looks so far except for userid and pass. Do you have a firewall on either system? What type of ftp server are you trying to login to? Have you tried creating another user and accessing the site?

it is incredibly not a DNS or password concern. Are you specific the FTP server continues to be working? it incredibly is obviously a non-connect subject, so my first guess could be that the server isn't accepting connections. My 2nd guess could be that your community firewall may be blockading something.

sounds like your login isn't set up on the ftp side. so you cannot log in. did someone set it up for you?

Sounds like an incorrect username/password.
