the blonde hair/blue eyed parent has to be homozygous recessive for the trait as the traits are recessive.
considering the case-
BbEe(for brown hair/brown eyes)
bbee(for blue)
in recombination-
BbEe x bbee
the offsprings would be-
BbEe (brown/brown)
bbee(blue/blue)
Bbee(brown/blue)
bbEe(blue/brown)
all in the ratio 1:1:1:1.
and what do you mean by light hair and eyes are common in the family?
are the parents related?

If haircolor and eye color followed a simple dominant recessive pattern, which is doesn't, the offspring would have a 50% chance of blood hair and a 50% chance of blue eyes.
But hair color and eye color really aren't a simple recessive/dominant pattern-EVEN IF some (bad) textbooks pretend they are for review questions.

The blue-eyed parent has two blue-eyed genes because brown is dominant and if the genes were one each, that parent would have brown eyes.
The brown-eyed parent may or may not have a blue-eyed gene. If not, none of the children will have blue eyes. If so, 50% will be blue eyed.

if you have blonde hair this will naturally get bleached by the particular sun in the summer. There has been this guy in my class who else had golden blonde hair that had been a medium brown near the bottom part. When he came back to college after summer vacation, it was nearly platinum blonde!

Jet black hair. I have really dark brown hair and I think dark hair looks better. I avoid really like blonde hair.

darker colour genes tend to be the more dominant allele so i would go with the dark hair and dark eyes. Remember that the certain alleles can skip generations so your offspring might get the light hair and eyes but not your offspring's offspring.

Brown is dominant and blue is recessive so Brown is more likely... I think.
