In my opinion hen(elder chicken) came first.

see ! if eggs wud have came first, after hatching there wud be no one to take care of them(they wud not have any mother) and they wud die.
so species of the hens wud not continue

If hens come first, they wud have layed eggs , developed them into hens and given rise to their spicies

so the existance of hens' species is possible only if hens came first.

So far "eri" s answer is the only one that is right on target. Here is how it works:

Evolution proceeds via mutation. That is, due to a genetic change for whatever reason (say, a cosmic ray hits a slice of DNA), a species changes. So in the evolution of the chicken, at some point a "chicken precursor" (some dinosaur-like animal), gave birth to a chicken (by laying an egg, of course).

So the first chicken hatched from an egg... meaning that the egg came first.

neither, originally the chicken reproduced asexually, then the Easter Bunny cast a Magical Spell called evolution, and cursed the chicken saying from now on you will reproduce by Egg, unless not eaten first by the dreaded Geico Monkey Man...

---what do you think? I'm thinking of writing my own Bible, you think the story above sounds plausible?

---and the story continues:

...then the Easter Bunny lifted his Magical Wand and led the chickens into the desert, but there were no worms in the desert and the chickens cried out, "...where are the worms! where are the worms! we were better off with the dreaded Monkey Men!..", then one of their Eggs turned rotten and got maggots, and the Easter Bunny said, "...there are your worms!..." and the chickens and the Easter Bunny survived on maggots and lived happily ever after... this story is celebrated every year with a young child of the Geico Monkey Men reciting along with grape juice and crackers, preferably low sodium...

---how's the story look so far?

The question is as complex as it is simple, but both are at the extreme.
The answer requires objective analysis which must be carried out in two stages.
The greatest problem is selecting which stage must be addressed first.
After deep thought and serious analysis I have concluded that the only answer is "Yes" I hope this will be of some help.

Egg. in case you have self belief that Adam and Eve have been the 1st then the egg got here first...Eve's egg. in case you have self belief in any different case then it truly is nonetheless the egg b/c a lot of organisms have been laying eggs for one billion million years in the previous chickens.

The CHICKEN came first . You need a chicken in order to produce an egg . You don`t need an egg to create a chicken . There`s no other possibility .

Eggs. Dinosaurs were laying eggs long before the chicken arrived in the evolutionary chain.

Eggs. The first chicken was born as an egg - individuals don't evolve, so it can't become a chicken later.

Will this idiocy ever end? "What come fist?"???? You apparently have WAY too much time on your hands. If you're in school, you should be studying; if you're not, you really need to get a job. I hear Burger King is hiring.

I can't see "Astronomy" in this question, but I see plenty of "space".
