I have a 1993 chevy lummina, and the car stalls out when the engine is warm and I hit the brakes to stop. This started when I put in a new battery. The problem kept happening and they installed a fuel filter. What could be the problem.

I had a car in which the battery was loose and would shift when I braked hard and short out against the hood. Then correct itself after we stopped, I know the battery on the lumina is buried pretty deep but you might look.

My girlfriends van did the same thing and her husband also changed the fuel filter so when it didn't fix the problem he replaced the fuel pump. It works good now!

One possibility is that your Torque Converter Clutch (TCC) solenoid is bad and not releasing the clutch as its supposed to when you come to a stop and it causes your engine to stall. You may be able to disconnect the TCC solenoid electrical connector from your transmission to disable it until you can get it replaced.
