The F keys are used in combination with ALT key as a shortcut:
Example: pressing ALT and F4 cancels your command. Read old computer books to find exactly what they are for.

The different 'f' keys, can be programmed for different shorcuts in different programms
ie, F1 is normally a shortcut to help
Alt + F4 will close an open program

hi the point of those keys isn't comparable to one yet another like F1 key's used in win xp for help and that i think of F3 IS USED FOR seek F10 is used to bypass to the alternative menu F11 is used for cut back or maximize window etc u might press each of those keys than u woulad waiting to correctly known the needs of a few of those keys i tell u the needs of a few keys that i know and that i will tell u greater yet I even have not greater time u can examine the function of those keys by ability of pressing then

F1 - help
F2 - to rename the file names and folder names
