As a dapper young gent, I am wondering how best to wear one's watch on their wrist. I have in the past worn it on the inside of my wrist which was how my Grandfather did but I was wondering what the significance of doing this is. I've heard it may be down to the military. Any help greatly appreciated!

I don't know of any meanings or significance with how you wear your watch. I know that wearing it on the outside of your wrist is more traditional, but I prefer to wear it on the inside of my wrist. I tend to scratch and otherwise damage watches that I wear on the outside. Wearing them on the inside prevents that.

The only thing that I could thing of being related to the military is that when you wear your watch on the outside, it's much more likely to reflect light which makes you easier to be spotted.

I think it looks best if men wear their watches on the outside of their wrist.
