A quick answer would be, anytime is sex time when using a condom (except of course when receiving your periods)

But i know your question implies "without using a condom'

To enjoy sex without the fear of pregnacy and without using a condom, u need to fully understand your monthly cycle. As an illustration, i will use a normal cycle of 28 days.

THE FACTS: Normally, in a 28day cycle, ovulation takes place on the 14th day after menstrual flow. The lifespan of a sperms is usually a maximum of 4 days. It takes upto 3 days for the ovum to slide down the falopian tube into the uterus after ovulation.

With the above facts, it is clear that u need 4 sex-free days before ovulation and another 3 after ovulation. This translates into a total of minimum seven days which sex will most likely lead to a pregancy. any other days are safe.

In summary, after receiving your periods, the 1st to 9th days are safe days, the 10th to 17th days are not safe (dont even think about it), and the remaining days are ok till u receive your menstrual flow. And the cycle continues.

However, before trying this out please ensure that your cycle is regular coz irregular cycles will catch u by suprise. Also be cautious of STDs/Venereal diseases.

The previous answers were sarcastic but true and since I pity that you still havent gotten an answer that satisfy your curiosity then I will teach you how. You search for a rhythm calendar and download it. Just avoid the unsafe days and youre safe (its only true for those with regular cycles) or remember the first day of the period thats day 1 and avoid days 9 to 19 the rest are safe( days 1-8 and days 20 to 28). For irregular cycles, always remember the first day of the period, the interval of the cycle( for 3 months ) take the average. For example: 1st to 2nd month 29 days interval, 2nd to 3rd month 30 days interval, 3rd to 4th month 31 days interval so 29+30+31=90 /3=30/2=15 so ovulation is every day 15 of the cycle ( see its not always 14 as you all know ) so avoid days 10 to 20 and the rest are safe. Dont do this unless you have taken the average interval. Im sure everybody contributing answer to your question are also taking down notes. Good luck to all of you!

Safe days are around 5 days after period and 8 days before period.
Woman has to have a very reliable period for this to be accurate (every 28, 29 days).
It's much safer to use a condom or other methods of preventing pregnancy.

Small warning: My wife got pregnant first time we tried using safe days ;)

Theres not really a good time to try to prevent that. Usually a woman ovulates 2 weeks after her menstrual cycle so i would say that would be the worst time. Why not just wear protection or use birth control?

Never, there is always a chance of pregnancy no matter what time it is? There are olads of myths out there, when i was young i got told that the best time to have sex is just before you period which is a load of crap as thats one of the worst as your eggs are released and thats when your more fertile?

Use your head and use plenty of contraception at anytime.

When your ready to get pregnant. No matter how safe you are there is always that chance! Even on your period, so if your afraid and don't want to be pregnant right now simply don't have sex until you want a baby! Then you'll have nothing to worry about.

anytime you have sex there's a risk. but if you use a condom that'll cut the risk down. the first 14 days before and after a woman's period is when they're most likely to get pregnant
