outfit help?? dressy??

Question

ok i have a black velvet 3/4 length shirt and a white skirt that has black flower starting at the hem....can i wear a pair of black patnet leather peep toe flats or is that too much with the velvet?? thanks

i am 5'2 and its a knee length skirt

i dont wear any jewlery cause my kid pulls it off

i think that u shouldnt wear those shoes they might be a little to much different kinds of fabrics i would wear flip flops to whatever you are going to but idk if that isnt dressy enough

as long as the colthes sont "swamp" you you should be ok, i just use one rule- less is more, if you feel that it's too much you could wear simpler shoes without so much detail (without the peep toe for example) it depends on how long the skirt is really. also if you feel that ther is alot going on with your clothes then keep your make-up and hair simple so you balance it out.
the only time i think it's too much velvet if it's - all over velvet, a horrid bright color velvet, or if it's badly made and looks cheep because of it.

The skirt sounds pretty but the velvet shirt may not go with it very well. I would find another black shirt and then go ahead with a pair of black shoes.
