She claimed that Israel had said that Israel was ready and willing for Peace Talks. . . .BUT , She neglected to tell the truth and the whole story . Israel immediately rebuked her public statements , by announcing that they really said , " We would welcome Peace Talks with Syria , AFTER they denounce their support of Hamas and Hezbollah "

She's playing a very dangerous game here and lying or hiding the truth is not gonna help anything . Or do some of you think that her lying is OK ?

BTW. . . .Let's ALL , Republicans and Democrats , including myself, start viewing things for what they are , and not according to our Political Affiliations !!!!

In another time in this country, she would be arrested and held on charges of treason like she should be now.
Who the H**l does she think she is visiting terrorist nations and contradicting American foreign policy?
She got elected to speaker of the house, not speaker of the US!

I guess I could expound on all the stuff that's already been answered here. But why?

Bottom line is that she's 3rd in line for the presidency and the other two are Republicans. So I have to ask the Democrats here...do you really think Nancy Pelosi with her San Francisco political views would be your best choice to lead this nation? If not...why was she elected Speaker?

She can't even lead Congress (other than to the reeking pork-barrel of political favors traded for unpopular votes).

Nice lady.

She is playing at a very dangerous game indeed. I don't think that she sees the bigger picture. Showing a lack of support for Israel will get more innocent Israelis killed. It is bad enough that she is trying to convince the American people that she has more power then the President does over the Executive branch. Now she is playing the Big shot to the rest of the world, our enemies in particular. She will get more innocent people killed with her message of The USA is divided and that we don't support our President. The democrats sure love to campaign the world for that popularity vote, even at the expense of our safety.

My problem is that as a Republican I somehow thought maybe Pelosi's rhetoric last December would make a difference and we would be bipartisan in approaches. But again I succumbed to the thought that elected lib democrats wanted this country to be better, safer, and in control of its own destiny. This visit to a documented terror base as Syria by the opposition party during a war (and do we think that Syria is not like Iran supplying arms and men to the fight against our troops in Iraq was so wrong. What would FDR have done if the Republicans took a trip to Italy during WWII to talk up Benito? What would Wilson have done if Republicans had left DC during WWI and discussed alternatives to Wilson's war with officials from Austria-Hungary or the Kaiser? Its one thing to possibly have these missions in peacetime but WE ARE IN A WAR with these countries maybe not fully but they supply the insurgents that try to kill and maim our solders and contractors, try to terrorists those that support us in Iraq, and destroy any improvement we all paid for to rebuild/build hospitals, water treatment plants, and sewage lines we have put in place for the people of Iraq. Plus Syria is out for the destruction of our only ally of over 50 years in the area Israel. No this was out of control foreign policy by legislative members in direct violation of the Constitution that vests that power clearly in the Executive Branch.

I believe she is there promoting the democrat/quitter policy.
She talks about the republicans congressman that went there very recently. I am quite sure they were not there on a "LETS BE FRIENDS" visit. That would explain why there was no global media coverage of their visit.
She however is treating them like they are a honorable country so she can try to acheive some political goal.
I am glad that Israel rebuked her.

She's either being deliberately malicious or totally naive.

I bet it's closer to number two.

She's being played, like a fiddle, by the middle eastern leaders.

BUT -

This is what the American people voted for, whether they realized it or not. I tried to warn people.

Look at all the foolish posts here, saying "oh, all we need to do is talk to the enemy - look how well they treated her!" Is the goal to have a nice conversation and have people say they like us? Or to protect our interests and project strength? Her trip accomplished NOTHING other than to prop up these dictators at the expense of the US. Much of the American public is being played too. But some people love it because they hate Bush more than they care about America.

We're getting the government we deserve.

Pelosi seems to be more about perception than substance. And as such, I am not surprised at her mischaracterization of Israel's position. She wants to come home to fawning crowds and accolades for her "diplomatic triumph". It doesn't matter if it is real. It simply has to look good "in the moment."

Nancy Pelosi thinks she can go to the middle east waiving her little magic wand and bring peace to the region. Israel has been fighting terrorism for a life time if she thinks she can jump from the mix of liberal fanatics into the mix of Islamic fanatics and convince them that she knows whats best for their country then she is more delusional than she appears. she needs to leave Israel to do what they do best which is counter terrorism and stick to what she does best which is bang her little gavel and accomplish absolutely nothing.

Earnest T ... Well, that's her problem. While she has a right to go where she wants and say what she wants, since she has no foreign policy role and no authority to implement any informal agreements she may have made, the whole thing amounts to a big zero as for accomplishments, but I will give her high scores for helping to divide us.

Nancy Pelosi is a danger in every sense of the word! In the sense of freedom of speech, freedom of religion, and everything that is good in America! The liberal left voters have NO clue about her voting record, and I bet they aren't 'up' for learning about it! Israel is our ONLY BEST ally, because they are GOD's! NOT THE MUSLIMS! And we already have the post-history notes on alla DAT !!!!

OUTRAGED -- RIGHT ON!
