Yes, there is a rising insurgency in Iraq. AND, with Pelosi running all over the world acting as though she were President rather than Speaker of the House, matters can only get worse. How can she play into the hands of the enemy and not be impeached is beyond me. She certainly is doing little for Americans to put the fate of America in a woman's hands.

Chow!!

The statistics seem to prove otherwise. Both the number of incidents and the number of coalition casualties are down. There is an increase in "media oriented" attacks- usually bombs targeting Iraqui civilians, obviously intended to create a "splash" in the media.
It would appear that the insurgency is over and done with- all bar the final death throes. Of course this might take a while, especially if the propaganda machine keeps working (no lack of idiots and money arriving from abroad). It will become a bit like the Corsican nationalists- they've been planting bombs for 200 years and are still getting nowhere.

I don't see a question. The marsh so-called 'marsh Arabs' in the region of Shat-el-Arab are Shi'ite Muslims who were persecuted under Sadam Hussein and protected by the no-fly zones established by UNO.
Northern Iraq is principally Kurdish. The are mainly Sunni Muslims, but were persecuted under Sadam Hussein for ethnic reasons. They were also protected by the no-fly zones.

In central Iraq (the ruling party under Sadam Hussein) the people were mainly Sunni Muslims. but Arabs.

Iraq is no more a country than Yugoslavia was. And they did not invite foreign forces into their country to depose their Head of State.
For what it's worth, the Iraqi people, whether central Iraq Sunnis, northern Iraq Kurds or southern Iraq Sh'ites, they are almost certainly worse off now than before the invasion.

Whatever my ethnic or religious leanings, I'd be pretty displeased with the invading troops.

there was war in Iraq long before American Invasion, ever since the 1980. Iraq Attempts to invade Iran, 1988 Iran Iraq war ends, the Genocide of the Kurds in north is at its height with the city of Halabja poisoned, 1991 civil war begins in north and the Kurdish regional government is established, in the same year Iraq attempts to invade Kuwait city, 1996 once again civil war in Iraq between Kurds and Arabs living in a so called same country.
Iraq has never been better than now, it has been worse, the only difference now is that Iraq has a chance to be at peace because USA and Europe are now more directly involved with the situations, with these powerful nations giving a helping hand to the people of Iraq, this is their only Chance in my opinion to create a more stable government. however the problem is not in Iraq, its coming from outside of Iraq, every thought abut Iran, Syria.... they would do anything to make sure USA fails on its plans to bring peace to Iraq, they know if Iraq is stable it would be a strong nation on their boarder, so they would do anything to prevent that.

Because there is an occupying military force, which no country would stand for. It will rise until the country is free or apparently free of occupying forces.

I merely choose lets get our troops out of that hell hollow and enable those human beings kill themselves. we may be able to then pass decrease back and %. up the products. I do exactly not see those Muslim human beings ever catching on to fact, see you later as they have their definition of, non secular holy men, calling the images and stirring up followers to kill in the call of a few preferrred being.
