It's normal to miss a period every few months. If the pregnancy test is negative, I'd go with that answer for now. If you still don't have one after about 5 days, re-take the test.

STRESS... It can cause so many changes with your 'normal'. But I'm not saying that you can't be pregnant. I took 3 pregnancy tests before the 4th one finally came up positive, because I KNEW I was pregnant. I would give it a week or two, and if you still haven't started, take another test.

You should expect a (most) pregnancy test to be reliable a week after you'd expect your period.
Environmental stuff can make you late. Stress, diet (not just on a diet but also change of food), pets, age. It can even make you skip a month.
Test again in a few days if your period hasn't kicked in by then.

A pregnancy test wouldn't come up positive this early. Research it.

You could've tested too soon, or maybe you have been overly stressed this month?
