My laptop will shut down suddenly without any particular reason. Some time, after 4 hours of using it, it will shut down all of a sudden. Some time, it shut down just after half an hour of using it. I've sent it to the computer shop to be repaired, but the technician said there's nothing wrong with it because with them, 'it' do not shut down like it did with me.But when I took it back, it will shut down again. What is wrong with that?Could it be some damage from the hardware or processor?

Could be that you are overworking it with multiple programs running causing overheating, could be that you are using it on your lap or bed and its not getting proper air circulation. Place it on a flat, open surface.

After reading various answers before me I wonder why it did not shut off when it was for repairing?

It means there is no problem in the PC but some thing with related inside home such as:
The place of Electric plug or cable, cable do not connect properly.
The place where PC is, near window or heater.
If this is happening recently there is one and easy way.
RESTORE SYSTEM it will bring your PC to date when it was working fine.
Click Start
All Programs
Accessories
System Tools
System Restore
From here follow the screen guidance and restart computer. I am sure if it was working fine before then it will do the same again no need to be worried. Give a try.

Difficult to answer. Taking the obvious first:

1. Is it shutting down because the battery is low?
2. Are there power save settings to shut it down if its not used for a number of minutes?

It's most probably due to excess heat generation in the lap top.. There might have been damage due to the heat build up to the mother board or other components..
