When he is playing for the country, and is more than adequately paid(compared to other sports) he must voluntarily give 100% without looking for any privileges and step out the moment he finds himself unable to deliver.

It is true that Sachin did India proud by his cameo knocks, both in test and ODI cricket. But, now a days, he is only resting on his laurels and he has done nothing productive to Indian cricket. As you have rightly pointed out, Jayasuriyas , Muralidharans, McGraths, Pollocks and the like still give out 100 % for their country. Had India won the world cup, all these seniors will boast that this is their personal achievement. Similarly, when India has been knocked out of the WC, the senior players only should take responsibility. Instead, they are shedding "crocodile tears" to divert the main issue !
