what i did when i did mine was put them in genre groups ie sci-fi, action, bond ect and i put them alpabeticaly in their groups unless the films are in a series and then i put them in order of release. hope this is helpful

okay first by the year they were released, then genre, then alphabetically. and in a computer catalouge in case someone doesnt know what year it was released but they do know the title.
