The mystery is that over the years hundreds of ships and aircraft have disappeared in the area.

Some claim piracy, others UFOs.

I go with the scientific theory, that has been observed in other areas of the world, that cracks in the earths crust are releasing huge gas bubbles every now and then that affect ships buoyancy and aircraft controls

Whether it sucks them under, shoots them out into space, or throws them into a time warp, who knows. Maybe it's all 3, and some we haven't thought of!
