i run the kenopix live cd, and i would like to connect to the internet, using my DSL Speedtouch (Ethernet) Modem. i really want to surf the net on Linux but it doesn't connect me to the internet, can someone tell me how to get connected using dsl.

Linux's DSL settings must include the User name AND password supplied by your ISP. Call your ISP if needed.

LIVE CD's can't "remember" things like this, so each time you run Linux, you have to enter the info again.

first you have to check that your connection is working
if it is you need to run konsole
type ifconfig
check that you network card has an ip address other than 127.0.0.1
if network card is not activated go to settings network and let the script discover your network and acquire ip address automatically from the router
this is if the router is connected to the isp with no problems
