You need 39c in total postage to mail a one-ounce letter anywhere within the United States. After May 14, 2007, you'll need 41c.

The Post Office personnel knows the price of the stamp even if there is no amount stated. Thus, you can still use the stamps.

Do they have letters? Those stand for the classification of mail, and the amount of Class A, B or C mail. That was quite awhile ago, so I'd call the USPO to find out.

First class postage thirty nine cents...going up to forty one cents in May...add two more cents..please
