Yes they can maintain it forever (well maybe forever is an exaggeration) but is not free. You will be better off learning how to do minor updates by yourself, but if that is no posible you can ask for a price, it will depends on how much work the desgner will have to do and how often. Most designers already have standard fees so ask a few ones to get an idea of how things go on your town. For free lance designers they get ussually from $25 to $100 or more per hour depending on the local market and the kind or work needed; you might get charged by day wich might be better for you on some cases.

Ask also for a package, the designer, or the webhosting service provider might incluse a maintainage service for an small fee just to keep you as a client.

Hi John,

Designers usually charge depending on the content you require. If they are required to make headers, logos, banners etc....your price is going to increase. Also, to add shopping carts, forms and things of this nature will increase the cost of your site. Email me and let me know what you are requiring on your site and I will give you a quote.
